Cable TV Conversion
Cable or Satellite TV signals that come to your facility in analog form can be converted in “realtime” and streamed over the network to deliver breaking news, educational channels or other information. Our realtime encoding solution consolidates the TV signals to provide control so that only relevant channels are available for viewing. This means a school with a 60 channel cable system can limit the number of cable channels available over the network to 8, 12, 16 or 20 so that only relevant education and news channels are seen in the classroom. This provides appropriate administrative control and enables IT to better manage network activity.
Administrators are able to control which channels are available at any given time and channels can be changed either manually or remotely by authorized personnel. Any changes to the channel line-up are automatically updated on the Web page so no HTML coding is required.
Viewers access the channel listing on a Web page and navigate using hyperlinks to make channel selection simple and easy. TV programs are transmitted over the network in a multicast format. When a teacher activates a hyperlink for the channel the video stream is routed through the classroom PC and then easily viewed on the classroom projector.
