Missing Media Alert
Missing Media is a critical feature in a broadcast automation operation that notifies the operator if a program is not available when scheduled. This avoids on-air errors and embarassing black air. Missing Media can be run anytime there is a schedule update or import from a traffic or scheduling program. If more than a few programs are missing the operator can print a report and use that to track down the missing files.
Missing Media will also check and trigger a few minutes prior to each program as a double check and any Missing Media listed in the Program Schedule is flagged with a red bar to make it easy to spot.
To avoid the Missing Media warning, store all of your files in accessible, on-line storage areas such as a Digital Archive Unit. VLM automatically searches secondary and back-up locations for missing files and will automatically retrieve those files in advance to support the playback automation playlist.
