Now to the question…How do Education and Coal Mining relate to this topic? In 2008, the U. S. Department of Commerce ranked 55 industry sectors on their level of IT intensiveness. Education was ranked number 55 behind Coal Mining. The thoughts behind the videos and comments definitely stir debate. Technology, in and of itself, is not the answer to solve the woes of education. Technology in whatever form is simply a tool for good teachers to use where it makes sense with a purpose to engage students and get them involved.
