How do you feel about stations that add crawls and tickers to their broadcast that cover up the lower third of the screen and thus some of the video? Some people don’t care and others find it annoying.
If you need to publish a crawl or lower third but don’t want to cover the existing program the best solution is to shrink the program slightly and move it up so your crawl is below the actual video.
Here’s an example of how one of our customers uses VLM, our Broadcast Automation Software and Informa-HD to shrink their program up and display their lower third message below so it does not interfere with the broadcast. This feature is fully automated so it can be scheduled in advance.
