Twitter and Student Engagement
Dr. Monica Rankin, @monicarankin on Twitter, is a History Professor at UT Dallas and decided to experiment with Twitter in one of her history classes. The idea behind the experiment was to see if Twitter might improve student engagement in a class of 90 students. A grad student at UTD, @kesmit3, created the video to document the experiment.
At Synergy Broadcast Systems we think education can benefit from technology so we are always interested in finding and promoting things that can improve student engagement. We are partial to video and video on demand because that’s what we focus on but we know educators need more than one tool to engage their students regardless of topic so we try to pass along ones we find out about and this is clearly a tool that has potential. Kudos to Dr. Rankin for taking the time to document and share this information.
